"Cafe Del Pueblo” Playa Grande, Guanacaste, CR A few hundred meters upon entering Playa Grande on the right side of the road, sits “Cafe Del Pueblo”. The pie here is absolutely superb. The yeasty crust is thinner and soft yet dense and chewy at the same time. The sweet sauce, rich with herbs and the tastiest Italian cheese blend is making my mouth water as I type this. My last pizza was topped with tomato, capicola, pineapple, and basil leaves. I’ve always been a bit of a porker when it comes to indulging in ample parmesan and olive oil too. This place is no exception. The olive oil they use is some of the richest and tastiest I've had. Be sure to make this a destination on your traveling escapades. |
| "Bruno's Pizza” - Montezuma, CR Nestled quietly away on the Southeastern shore of the Nicoya Peninsula lies Montezuma, a magical little town. Three of my favorite things in Costa Rica are located here including the local bakeries fresh out of the oven onion-roles, cliff-diving at the water falls, and Bruno's Pizza. It's worth the journey just for the pizza. The pizza oven is close to a hundred years old and imported from Italy. I've never seen anything like it before. The pizza is 100% hand-made with only the finest ingredients. The owner is awesome too! After a relaxing day in the jungle or beach, dinning at Bruno's would make a fine topper. |
"Sole Mio" - Escazu, CRThis fine dinning pizza parlor is near Multi-Plaza Escazu. For some reason I feel the need to eat my pizza with a fork here... though I don't. As the wonderful Italian concoction slid down my gullet, I had to remind myself where I was. In retrospective, this is the most elegant pizza spot of my visits. Concluding my last visit, our server complimented us with some amazing dessert wine. Nice touch! |
"La Fabrica Pizzeria" - San Pedro, CRNear Mall San Pedro lies "La Fabrica Pizzeria". One of my all time favorites. The crust is thin, yeasty, and a style similar to true Italian Pies. Many pizzas include tomato slices and herbs instead of pizza sauce. La Fabrica has an awesome menu selection. My favorite is the prosciutto, parmesan and arugula. This. Hits. the. Spot! Be sure to check out this treasure trove and let us know how it went! |
"Monster Pizza" - San Pedro, CRAcross from University Costa Rica is 'Calle de la Amargura’ or ‘Bitterness Street’. This famous street is littered with bars, bakeries, clothing shops and art supply stores. At night the street really comes alive with people spilling out of bars. Monster Pizza makes a great after-party cure for tomorrows hangover... one slice is all you need! A slice is comparable to most medium pizzas elsewhere. |
